Deep beneath the earth, cool, brown roots,
Speak to golden trunk of the warm, brown waves
of sunlight that wash upon the shores of heaven,

The poet: Eric Hanna is a 28 year-old philosophy student from central Canada. He informs us that his poetic influences include JRR Tolkien and Tom Waits. In his free time he enjoys writing, especially about himself in the third person.

The artist: Kate LaDew is a graduate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a BA in Studio Art.
