Hopeless Wishes
—a poem by Dennis Paul Wilken

I know folks who say
They wish they'd
Never been born;
They are fools
Although I do wish
I didn't have to die
For the privilege
Of living,
And I also wish
I'd been born
With a pistol
In my little hands
Cause some of
You stupid motherfuckers
Could use
A little pain
To get your heads right
