Devil
—a poem by Thom Young

life is often strange
the used
car lot
with the pocket protector
dead salesman
greasy
and nicotine
teeth
like sodden trench
warfare
in France
circa 1916
he's got the deal
of a lifetime
if you're
willing to go down
under the desk
in the refurnished
office.
